To get an extra mode, beat the game. When the title screen comes back up, put the cursor on "New Game" and press either Down or Select.

Secret Extra Lives
There are four hidden extra lives in this game. Here is where they are located:
1) In Fillmore - Use the Compass in the town.
2) In Bloodpool - Cause it to rain when you're over the large lake.
3) In Kasandora - After you find the pyramid, cause an earthquake.
4) In Northwall - Fry the town shrine with a bolt of lightning.
